David Thomspon is located in Acadia, and serves as a feeder school for both Acadia and McKenzie Towne schools. The school puts students into learning communities to focus on students’ individual learning needs. In addition to core academics, students also have the opportunity to learn a wide range of electives, including music and technology studies. David Thompson’s athletic program is particularly outstanding, and the optional intramurals have a high attendance.
Lord Beaverbrook is a major high school in SE Calgary that serves students from many of New Brighton’s surrounding communities. The school strives to provide students with an academic foundation that will prepare students for their future careers. Lord Beaverbrook offers a wide range of electives and career prep courses, introducing students to a wide range of interests and potential passions.
