Beyond the tree-lined streets, well-groomed sidewalks, and peaceful neighbourhoods, Acadia is an extremely active and energetic community.
The Acadia Community Association is active within the community, ensuring family events and activities are planned throughout the year. Stampede BBQs, bingo nights, blood drives, country line dancing, and roller derby are just a few examples of the exciting things in Acadia. Neighbourhood groups and social clubs are also active within the community.
The neighbourhood parks make Acadia a pleasant community, including Arlington Park and Bonaventure Park. Numerous smaller parks with playgrounds can be found throughout Acadia as well, and tend to be a hit with younger children.

Acadia’s closest golf courses, the Willow Park and Maple Ridge Golf Courses, are located side-by-side to the south of the community. Both courses can easily be reached within ten minutes, making these excellent home courses for Acadia players. Eaglequest Douglasdale and Canyon Meadows can also be reached easily. With four excellent Calgary courses moments from Acadia, the community is perfect for golf enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Acadia’s main street is Fairmount Drive, a primarily residential road that also features some local businesses. Small commercial plazas can be found where Fairmount intersects with Southland Drivd in the south of the community, and 83rd Ave SE in the north. The proximity to grocery stores, gas stations, and more ensures that daily errands are easy to run.
For more ambitious shopping trips, Acadia is an easy 15 minute drive from downtown Calgary and 20 minutes from the popular Kensington business district.
