SCHOOLS IN ACADIA
Acadia is ripe with opportunities for developing a strong educational foundation. Public schools in Acadia are well rated and recognized for providing a great environment for students. A number of non-public options are available as well, including Catholic, French-immersion, charter, and private schools.
ACADIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (K–4)
Acadia School provides a safe and welcoming learning environment for students, where every student is encouraged to do their best.
DAVID THOMPSON MIDDLE SCHOOL (5–9)
David Thompson serves several SE communities and is the next step after Acadia Elementary and MacKenzie Towne Elementary school. The school is organized into five learning streams, with resources to help students learn together. In addition to the regular curriculum, a number of supplementary courses are available, including art, food sciences, construction, computer sciences, dance, and band. Students receive a well-rounded education and develop some important skill-sets.
LORD BEAVERBROOK SENIOR HIGH
Lord Beaverbrook is one of the major high schools in Calgary, and hosts high school students from numerous local communities.

CHARTER SCHOOLS
Foundations for the Future Charter Academy has seven campuses in Calgary, providing K–12 students with a charter education that combines academic excellence with character building. These charter schools are a popular option with families who value an independent, community-based education.
FRANCOPHONE SCHOOLS (ÉCOLE DE LA SOURCE)
École de la Source provides Acadia students with a francophone education in grades K–9. Acadia also offers a couple of Catholic French-immersion options via Calgary’s separate schools (see below).
SEPARATE SCHOOLS
École St. Cecilia Bilingual Elementary and École St. Matthew Elementary & Junior High serve the Acadia community with bilingual, Catholic education options.
PRIVATE SCHOOLS
Several private schools are located within Calgary that feature both day-school and boarding options. Many of these schools are highly regarded, and provide students with a structured learning environment and a strong foundation in academics and athletics. Calgary Christian School, Foothills Academy, and West Island College are all popular options. Acadia is also 30 minutes from Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School, which has been rated as one of the top 25 private schools in the country.
